do you like hot dogs?

we are launching our new business today (soft opening): a food truck!
we loved them so much, we couldn't just stand by and let everyone else run them without us having a fair try at it.

so last november, mei and dave and me and TH decided we'd sell gourmet hot dogs, and Top Dog was born! we've worked really hard on finding and outfitting a truck, and getting the highest quality ingredients we could find. we'll have a bacon-wrapped sonoran dog, a gourment debreziner (sausage) dog, and a "not dog" - a veggie dog with pinto beans, tomatoes, and some good spice. it is SO delicious i wish i could eat one right now! and TH couldn't get enough of the sonoran dog - that Dave Adams is one amazing chef.

TopDog will be operating in northern virginia for the first couple of months and will hopefully expand into arlington and DC soon. please pass the word along if you know of friends who live/work in the area! we're really excited to get things off the ground. thanks to our friends for all your support for our truck! this has been so much fun, and we just can't wait.

Congrats and good luck!!

A little advice from someone who spent all of HS and most of college working in the kitchen of a hotdog & rootbeer joint - deep fried in peanut oil is the way to go. I'm not saying it's good for you, but really, who's trying to be healthy when they're eating a hotdog? :-)

next time in NoVa, ill hunt the truck down!

Every Day Brings Something New, indeed! This is amazing news! Congratulations!!!! You had hinted at this before and I wasn't sure you were for real, but now I am so glad to know that you are! I wish I were there to eat one right now. My fave is a hotdog with just ketchup and chopped onion. Do you offer chopped onions? I am getting hungry ... when is the truck coming to Africa?

What a small world! I stumbled upon your blog and was just flipping through some old posts while on my lunch break at work. It is funny because Top Dog used to stop outside of my office building on Westwood Center Drive. My co-worker and I miss it! Although, my diet thanks you a little. We love Top Dog and do hope you all visit us again on Westwood Center Drive again soon! You blog is lovely by the way, good luck with the baby!!
