day off.

staying home today to catch up on sleep on the same day my landlords thought it would be a good idea to paint the exterior of the house.
cue me waking up at 8am to the sound of paint being scraped off the windows 7 feet from my head. gah. so onto the couch to finish my rest.

since i mentioned how busy i was in my post yesterday, i realized i needed a day off to catch up on rest and make sure i'm up to speed for all the things i still need to do in the next 6 weeks. it's a lot to think about, so i'm glad i had the sense to take it easy today. feeling so much better already.

yesterday i had two different people tell me the babys gender. the grocery clerk KNEW that it was a boy. look at the way you carry, he said. and the security guard KNEW that it was a girl. look how it sits on your body, not poking out, she said. i told both of them that i didn't know - this is just the way my body carries a baby! did you have people tell you the wrong gender when you were pregnant, based on how you looked?

Haha! Yes, an older Chinese lady told me I was having a boy when I was pregnant with Gwen. When I kindly said it was a girl, she said (in a chinese accent)... no, its boy, you see. Hilarious. However, I little part of me thought I'd have to take a baby boy home in pink ;) glad you're catching up on rest! Miss you, friend.

A lady in our ward told my friend she was having a boy because her butt cheeks were spreading...rude!

oh my gosh cara! who says stuff like that? i had this dirty old man tell me i was having a boy because i looked good from behind. he was sitting next to me on my flight to denver and let me tell you that was a long, awkward flight.

i really am getting so curious in the past week or so. we can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!

That is so funny. Nobody told me genders but I have a friend who didn't find out the gender through an ultrasound but visited family in Taiwan while she was pregnant and EVERYONE there congratulated her on her baby boy just based on how she carried. And sure enough she had a boy.
I also had a random woman from Africa in the department store tell me I was going to have a big baby. I said, "No. I am not going to have a big baby." And she said, "Yes you are. And that is good. Because big babies are healthy babies." And sure enough he was 10 lbs. 4 oz. and super healthy.
